Rhiannan Longley is one of Perth’s up & coming jazz vocal talents. Known for her unique, pure sound, she is a graduate of the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, completing the final year of her Bachelor of Jazz Performance in 2011.
During her time at WAAPA she has performed in front of audiences of over four thousand and has had the opportunity to sing with renowned Australian artists such as Katie Noonan and Gian Slater.
Rhiannan has performed in many prestigious clubs in Perth and around the country including The Ellington with her Quintet and travelled to Melbourne in June 2011Â to represent the academy at the 2011 International Jazz Festival.
While drawing inspiration from jazz greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Carmen McRae, Billie Holiday and Astrud Gilberto, Rhiannan is also interested in the music of modern artists Gretchen Parlato and Esperanza Spalding. She is passionate about sharing her own original compositions as well as delivering new interpretations of well-known jazz standards.
