David and Sinead celebrated their wedding on Saturday the 19th of December followed by a reception at the East Fremantle Yacht Club.
David and Sinead’s vision for their wedding was that it was to be a celebration of their love with close family and friends, they were passionate that the people involved in putting on the day they knew or had some sort of connection with.
They approached Simon Montgomery to find a DJ for the reception who would play a selection of background music early in the night to create a welcoming atmosphere and then play well known wedding hits later in the night for people to dance to. They specifically asked that no rap or beat music be played, they would prefer that the choices of songs be kept more to main stream rock from over the periods from 1960s through to present day. They also asked if the DJ would be happy sharing the MC role to help make various announcements through the evening.
David and Sinead met with Simon Montgomery to plan out the details of the reception including contact people at the venue, advice on song selections, various extra music elements that could be added to make the entire evening more personalized , professional details of possible DJs and a planning schedule for the time leading up to the wedding day.
In the week leading up to the reception David and Sinead provided final details including what songs they wanted for their first dance and the entrance of the bridal party as well as other specific song requests, this list was played throughout the evening and also used as a guide for the DJ into what sort of music they wanted to be played at their reception.
From David and Sinead walking in at the beginning of the reception to Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World†to their first dance, the DJ managed to select the right song for every moment of the evening.
