When Mark met Mandy at the beginning of 2009 he knew he had found the woman of his dreams and started to make plans to spend the rest of his life with her. On the 19th of December 2009 Mark married Mandy, the woman of his dreams. They celebrated reception that evening at the South of Perth Yacht Club, Applecross, Western Australia.
The planning for Mark and Mandy’s wedding reception music began 6 months out from their wedding with a meeting with them and  the function liaison from the yacht club at the yacht club. This meeting proved invaluable in the preparation of entertainment including  requirements for setup and floor plan and what logistics were going to be needed from a production point of view (sound and lighting).  With Mark being in the armed forces and stationed in Townsville, Queensland, and Mandy working full time as a school teacher a lot of  the planning after this meeting was done through phone calls and email correspondence.
Mark and Mandy had a vision for their reception of having an evening with live jazz music being played for people to get up and dance to after the conclusion of dinner, speeches and the other evening formalities. Mark and Mandy also wanted some sort of music to create ambience and atmosphere for the earlier parts of the night but were unsure of what they wanted exactly.
Simon Montgomery, through The Wedding Music Planner, organized a jazz quintet featuring Ben Hall on vocals. The band performed three sets of 50 minutes over the course of three hours featuring many of the tunes made famous recently by Michael Buble with also some songs made famous by the likes of Sinatra, Martin, Cole and Baker. The band, comprising of vocals, saxophone, piano, bass and drums managed to entertain the crowd, keep the dance floor full and provide a great sense of atmosphere throughout all three sets.
The music for during dinner earlier int he evening was also provided by Simon Montgomery. A selection of jazz tunes that would complement the live music later in the evening was chosen and played at a low volume through the sound system organized for the live band.
To provide an extra bit of atmosphere lighting was organized was the dance floor, the use of these LED can lighting which were set to slowly change colour settings were the perfect finishing touch to the complete entertainment experience.
