A Cappella Sextet.
6 Appeal a cappella ensemble comprises of six experienced singers, who will entertain with music tailored to suit every occasion and audience.
Since forming in 2012, the ensemble has performed a diverse repertoire of romantic, popular, Medieval, French, Australian, folk and classical music together with a large selection of carols for that special Christmas function. Alexander Platts directs the group, himself a well-known soloist, arranger and conductor with extensive overseas, having directed a variety of vocal groups. Many of his arrangements are incorporated in the group’s reperotire. 6 Appeal members all have extensive musical experience ad are actively involved in music and performance in Perth, Western Australia.

Member Biographies.
Alexander Platts.
Music Honours graduate from The University of Western Australia where he was later employed as Coordinator of Events. Undertook postgraduate studies in Adelaide and London. as a tenor soloist Alexander sang for several years in concerts and music theatre with groups in the United Kingdom and Israel. A member of the Western Australian OPera Company for 10 years until 2005 and sang with and was Deputy Musical Director of Collegium Music Choir for many years and has also directed numerous groups and ensembles. An arranger of choral music, his diverse activities are reflected in his wide range of musical interests, from Renaissance through to gospel and jazz. Choir member of St Mary’s Cathedral as well as being involved in solo and ensemble work with the Cathedral.
Alinta Carroll.
Graduated from RADA London. Her acting career has included many musicals and has also sung in numerous vocal ensembles including Collegium Music Coir in Perth. has appeared in numerous theatrical productions in Perth, more recently including The Mozart Faction, Madame Ballet, Holiness and When Dad Married Fury. For two years was also a regular in the 9 Network series Streetsmartz. Performed for Morning Melodies at the Maj. Currently teaches voice at Perth College and is a member of WASO Chorus.
 Ernie Arnold.
Graduated from Wheaton College, Chicago with a BMusEd, teaching at DuPage County Secondary School for a year. Sang with the Batal Youth Choir for three years and was a member of the Operatic Performing Arts Council, South Africa for three years. Has sung with Collegum Musicum Choir and is currently a member of two a cappella vocal ensembles.
 Leanne Foley.
Studied Classical Music (singing) at WA Conservatorium of Music and won the series final of Channel 9’s Perth’s Young Entertainers. has performed in many musical theatre productions at His Majesty’s Theatre and the Regal Theatre. Has performed in concerts as a soloist and ensembles and sung lead vocals in several bands. Currently combines solo work and singing with 6 Appeal.
 Kay Wood.
Extensive vocal and choral experience over many years, performing with numerous large choirs and small ensembles, embracing all musical styles. Completed Grade 7 Piano. Sang with Collegium Symphonic Chorus for five years and has performed in most major Perth venues. Was administrator for the Collegium Musicum Choir for a year, organising concerts and events at major venues across Perth but in recent years has focused on smaller ensembles, singing and being actively involved in establishing and managing several groups.
Joanne Barratt.
Sang with Perth Modern School and completed studies in Grade 7 Cello. Whilst at university sang in various theatrical productions, and with PUCS, and later joined a cappella ensemble Tuxedo Junction where she took on the role of Assistant Musical Director and on several occasions, the role of Musical Director. Joanne has also participated in numerous a cappella ensembles over the years.
