Leesa Frawley

Classical Vocalist, Opera and Contemporary

Leesa began her study of music at the age of 6, with piano and musicianship lessons. She received a full music scholarship to Churchlands S.H.S. and later discovered her passion for singing after performing at the Vienna International Music Festival in 2000. After completing her TEE Music, she undertook further singing lessons before being accepted to study at the WA Academy of Performing Arts [WAAPA]. She will be completing her B.Mus. [Classical Voice] at WAAPA this year.

In her final performance year at WAAPA, Leesa appeared in the sell-out Gilbert and Sullivan A La Carte season as “Mad Margaret” from Ruddigore and “Buttercup” from H.M.S. Pinafore. Later in the year, she created the role of “Mercy Lewis” in the Australian premiere operatic season of The Crucible. She also had minor lead roles in her earlier years at WAAPA, including “The Mayor” in The Happy Prince. In her earlier performance career, she also played “Jan” from Grease and has had chorus roles in a number of productions, including H.M.S. Pinafore, Opera Scenes, Pirates of Penzance and The Gondoliers.

Leesa’s recent performance credits include the role of “Ruth” in the premiere performance of The “Potted” Pirates of Penzance. She is currently rehearsing a principal and a minor role for the upcoming season of Candide. In the future, she hopes to further her studies in Opera overseas.

Leesa began singing at weddings and special events during her 2nd year at WAAPA and her repertoire includes classical operatic, lieder, folksong, contemporary, music theatre and jazz. Upon request, she can also sing music of your choice. She is available to perform at your special event in a solo, ensemble or choral capacity.

Leesa is dedicated to excellence and will ensure that the music for your event is both memorable and enjoyable.
