West Australian Vocal Ensemble

The West Australian Vocal Ensemble (WAVE) is a vocal octet comprising of current music performance students from the University of Western Australia’s renowned vocal program and are available to provide the music elements at your wedding day or event. The group, trained in classical, jazz and musical theatre performance is the ideal solution for those couples wanting live vocal / choral music at their wedding ceremony on a larger scale than a soloist or small ensemble but not on the magnitude of a full choir either due to space or financial restrictions.

Performance at Disney in Concert

This ensemble was created for the Australian Premiere of Disney in Concert with the West Australian Philharmonic at the beginning of 2010 and has been received incredibly well by both the public and surrounding events management. Members of this ensemble have gained a vast experience over many years of performing. Individual and group accolodes have been won by members of the ensemble including six members winning the Open Vocal Ensemble category at theNorth Perth Music Festival and have also perfomred with Andrew Lawrence-King of the internationally acclaimed Harp Consort.

The group consists of a mix of young professional singers and current music students, all with years  experience as professional choristers and soloists, including the West Australian Opera, the National Youth Choir of Austalia, the So La Voce Chamber Choir in Brisbane and local groups including the West Australian Youth Chorale and the Giovanni Consort.

There are also two award winning composers in residence as members of this quartet, this has given the ensemble the ability to arrange new repertoire fairly easy when adequate notice is given. For those who desire a personalised wedding ceremony experience enquire about the possibility of new works being commisioned specifically for your wedding day.

Equally comfortable in both Classical and Modern styles, the group would make a stylish and professional contribution to any event, including works with Orchestra, or as a supporting choir for travelling international acts. The group can be hired (preferably as the full eight, but smaller [6-4-3 etc.] groups are equally possible) for events including weddings, corporate events and private functions.
