Wedding Flowers – What to Know When Selecting

Many people won’t have much of an idea about flowers such as their species or names until they get married and have to actually pick their own. But which flowers do you go for? There are so many things to take into account such as the season you want to get married in, the color of your wedding theme and the amount of flowers you are going to need. So with all of these things to think about, we decided to write you a small guide so that you can pick the right flowers for your wedding and get the look that you really want.

Flowers are so difficult to choose but they are a staple part of a wedding because of the beauty and the natural element that they bring to your wedding. But what type of flowers do you choose and where do they go? Well lets start with where you are going to put your flowers. To start with you will need a flower arrangement for the ceremony table. You may also want to have flowers at the end of each pew in the ceremony but this is up to you. You will then need flowers on each table at the reception and possibly a few decorative bouquets dotted around the room on stands. Finally you will need a bridal bouquet, small posies for the bridesmaids and button holes for all of the wedding party. These flowers should all match and should all tie in with the theme of your wedding.

Now we know how many flower arrangements and bouquets we are going to need then we can begin to choose the right flowers for the wedding. There are two ways in which you can choose your flowers, by color or by species. The color of your flowers will very much depend which flowers are in season and which colors you are going to be using in your wedding theme. If you are having a red theme then roses will look beautiful. However if they aren’t in season then this is much more difficult to obtain and might double your flower budget. If you want to go for a certain species such as your favorite then again you should check that they are in season at the time of your wedding. If in doubt, ask your florist who will be able to advise you what colors are in season and which aren’t.

If you have no idea what sort of wedding flowers you want to go for then why not take a look online or in some wedding magazines? They are filled with useful pictures and helpful articles that will give you all the information you need to pick the right flowers. Remember that the flowers are a big part of your budget so make sure that you are 100% certain of your choices and that you don’t look back at your photos in years to come and think “what a waste”. Take a look at some inspirational pictures today so that you can start finding the right flowers for you.

When you have decided on your flowers then you need to find a suitable florist that will be ale to fulfill your order under budget and on time. This may sound easy but florists can get booked up pretty quickly so try and ring round early so that you aren’t left disappointed. Don’t forget to ask if they can deliver and if they can make multiple drops because the last thing you need is for all the flowers to be dropped off at the reception when you need them for the ceremony and for your arrival.
